Thank you, Gina!!

I received a birthday gift in the mail from a former Meteorology student that I have kept in touch with over the years. Gina always remembers my birthday.  I received a coloring book, pencils, and a card in the mail yesterday. It was a great surprise. She even wrapped the gifts.

I finished quilting the Van Gogh inspired oil refinery quilt. The quilting went well. The sky was quilted with a blue poly from Superior threads and the water with red King Tut from Superior thread, The buildings were quilted with invisible thread.

Close up of the quilt. I just need to add the facing and sleeve.

My new quilt added to the energy series. Hard getting photo straight on since they are in a stairwell. Now to come up with a title for the new quilt.  Any ideas?

My husband's ideas:

"Starry, Starry Night?"
"Starry Future Night."
"Starry Scary Night."

Any of these?

Linking to Nina-Marie. Thanks for reading.

  2. Something about the red and black feels so powerful and forceful. Well done.

  3. I think Starry Scary Night is perfect. This came out so well - a great addition to your series. They look so good together.

  4. This definitely adds to the energy series. It stands along also. This whole series is so appealing -- it's amazing how wonderful basic hard, big equipment and buildings look in an art quilt. I can't wait to see what comes next. Maybe it's time to do something with a space craft or the gantry after the craft is shot to the sky.
