So now I have to go back to the row of brownstones or do the sky. I’m thinking about doing the sky to get the rest of the safety pins out of the quilt.
Here’s the bottom building.

I'm partial to the wavy lines, the straight lines look angry to me. Thumbs up on the purple and orange thread choice.
ReplyDeleteThere's so much vertical in this quilt that I think you need the horizontal(ish) curvy or even swirly lines in the sky. Straight vertical lines just don't feel right for a sky. I think that orange/purple king tut thread should work well.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to make no comments on your project as I've not followed along 100% -- and your attention to colour, scale and detail continues to boggle my mind! That said, I live in Big Sky Country (I know; you probably think that only applies to Montana or the Dakotas, but you ain't seen "nuthin'" until you've seen the Big Sky on the Canadian prairies!), and trust me; skies don't have vertical formations -- even above major urban centres. Even tornadoes aren't truly vertical. Just a thought...!
