Looking back and looking ahead

Another year has flown by. I did get a lot done this year.

I made 3 gnomes for gifts.

I made my recycle piece from plastic bags and won first place.

I made my piece for the word challenge at a local art museum. My word was wonder and it sold.

I pretty much finished my city collage. I still have to go back and fill in any quilting that came out.

Then I did my sister’s house on my dad’s drafting vellum.

I finally got back to the Halloween quilt. My goal was to finish it, but that did not happen.

Finally I made the yearly ornament for our daughter.  It’s of her cat.

So looking back I would say it was a busy year. I do have some things on my list for 2026.

Make a portrait of my other sister’s house on my dad’s vellum. (January)

Create the recycle piece (February and March) based on this image.

Finish the Halloween quilt and fix stitches for city collage quilt.

Make a small quilt from a kit I received a few years ago. The pieces are wool and based on this pattern from Buttermilk Basin. The fabrics I have are different than this photo.

Knit a scarf for our daughter.

Determine what art quilt I should make next.

Make 2026 ornament.

Thanks for reading.

  1. You really did get a lot done this year, even if there still is a quilt that didn't quite get finished. Looking forward to what comes out of your studio in the new year. :-)

  2. You had an amazing year! Your creativity and dedication shine through each of your projects. My year was not nearly as productive in the end!

  3. When you lay it all out like that, it is certainly impressive. I need to keep a yearly list, if only to have an inventory. Good job and Happy New Year. LF
