Playing some more with abstract designs

While we are waiting (yes still waiting) for the septic work to begin I decided to play with the abstract design stuff a bit more. This is what I have come up with.

Sunlight Shining Through Forest Nagano-ken, Japan

A grayscale overlay of pixels and paper design. I like the lost and found edges.

purple squares lines

Taking the purple pixels and breaking it up and adding some lines.

more complicated purple lines

Breaking the design up further. Has the looking though a window effect.

purple zigzag

Using the zigzag filter. Rain running down a window?

purpleaccented edges

Adding accented edges.

purplestampgrayscale

Using the stamping filter and turning to grayscale.

Well more designs to consider. What do you think?

Linking to Nina-Marie a day early since we are traveling to see our new house tomorrow and visit my dad for father’s day. Will take lots of photos to see what kind of progress they have made on our house.

Thanks for reading.

  1. I like the top, gray-scale one best. The zigzagging ones make my eyes jumpy. haha. I also like the last one.
What a bother this septic thing has been. Time to move on. One good outcome may be that you will have less time to have to move into temporary quarters? Do you have a completion date yet for the new home?

  2. I like the color ones a lot. That sense of looking through a window really adds to the appeal. The zig zag filter one reminds me of my art group friend's work with reflections in glass buildings. What a fabulous body of work you could make out of these.

  3. Oh, Chris, I wish I had your eye! I liked each one even better than the one before. Perfect choice of colors. But my favorite is the last one!!! I hope you make several of these.

  5. These are so interesting. Oddly I like the grey ones best, and I would usually go for colour, but they all have things about them that I like. I hope you are going to keep developing this.

  6. I confess I prefer the straight-line versions to the 'wavy'. The question is, when do you stop? That is, when do you have enough samples to move from? Tricky, that!

  7. Um, have I missed some of your posts. Are these done in fabric or on a computer or in paper or??? Hope you have a great time visiting your dad. And, to see the house coming along...so much fun. Pretty soon it'll be time to place furniture and see what needs to go and what can stay... I'm assuming you are downsizing a little. Have fun.
