Did you ever take a class and then decide that you don’t really want to finish the project? That’s how I feel about the rocks and pebbles class I took last Sunday. While it was fun I’m not sure I should have taken it. Maybe it’s just post class blues. It did make me realize that my true love is buildings. So why did I take it? I was pretty burned out on buildings after so many buildings last year….Boston collage, Pittsburgh pieces. I thought I needed a change. Maybe I just needed a break and not another class.
So here’s my rocks from the class. Making the rocks was pretty fun and addicting. The fabrics all all hand dyed or hand painted rust dyed fabrics. The background is snow dyed and I picked it so it would look like water and a shore line with a deposit of smooth rocks and pebbles. The small snippets of fabric is where I would make French knots and add beads. I also have some shells and natural irregular shaped pearls from a necklace that broke years ago.
