The Janome M7 is in my house and even though all I’ve done so far is play with it I think I love it. It sews really well. My new table top is arriving from Sew Perfect tables https://www.sewperfecttables.com/ today so it will be moved from my dining room table to my sewing room. Then I can really start doing things.
Here it is on my dining room table. At first I was worried about the purchase and had some buyer’s remorse, but after playing with it I’m so happy I moved on from my 9400. My girlfriend loves her 9400 which makes me wonder if I had a lemon.
Thanks for reading.

Wow, that's an impressive looking machine. Boston here you come.
ReplyDeleteLemons do happen. When I upgraded to my Viking Sapphire, I started having real issues with freemotion quilting. Took it in to my dealer/repair guy who looked it over and could find nothing in particular going on. Once home and sewing for awhile, the issue came up again so back I went with a sample showing exactly what was happening. (Side note: surprising how long it took me to decide it wasn't me but the machine!) He sent it in to the company, and to my surprise, they sent me a whole new machine and returned my sample. Have never had any problems with the replacement so indeed, chalked it up to having bought a lemon and it wasn't worth the company's time to figure out how to fix it. I think though that getting this upgrade rather than a replacement for the machine that was giving you grief is something you will never regret. :-)
ReplyDeleteI really like my M7. I mostly use it for FMQ and binding, but the space is excellent! I traded in a sit down longarm to get the M7 and not a bit sorry I did. The 13" throat space is more than adequate to quilt a king, and now I have the option of walking foot quilting, ruler work or FMQ! I have multiple machines set up, and this one is my full time quilting machine.
