Skyscrapers are done!

I finished quilting the skyscrapers this week. I’m still in love with my new machine.

In case you don’t think it looks like much quilting let me show you the back.

Next on the agenda is the purple arch building in the middle of the quilt. There is a lot of detail to quilt on this building. Should keep me busy for a while.

I have to mark it and then pick the thread. I might need a break today so maybe it will just be a marking day. It’s less than a month to my class on making an architectural quilt. I hope I get enough students. Last year I only had 3 students. If that’s all I get I’m not sure if I will teach it or offer it again. It means there is not much interest.

  1. That looks amazing! My M7 was not liking certain threads, but I just bought the low tension bobbin case for the M7 and now it's FMQ well with everything! I didn't know about that option, so I thought I'd let you know in case you didn't know about it either.

  2. Fingers crossed you get sufficient students signed up for the architecture class. Your work is certainly an inspiration.

  3. Wow! That's some spectacular quilting! I hope you get enough students signed up for your class though I'll admit, it's likely a challenging theme/topic, and probably best suited to quilters with some experience and a willingness to move outside their comfort zones...Good luck!

  4. What I like about your blog is the photos are magnifiable, I can really zoom in and see all your quilting. All those endless straight lines of quilting. Having just taken an in person class, I have decided it was my last. Depending on the venue, ours was a room in a church where we have our guild meetings, the space is limited, you can't ever have all the right stuff with you no matter the huge amount you haul there. I could go on but every person I voiced this to in the class, 5 pple, also said this was their last in person class. Live virtual is now my only go to for classes. Glad you are happy with your new machine and it is behaving.
