A couple of thing to report and some help needed

I’ve made some more progress on the king size Halloween quilt. I have several rows sewn together and have picked out the 2 border fabrics. I also ordered backing fabric….12 yards of it!

I gave my girlfriend the gnome. Can you guess what it is?

I have another gift to reveal, but I can’t until it is received.

So here’s what I need help with….I decided to participate in a word challenge for the local art museum. We have to make an art piece based on that word. I’m going to make a small fiber piece that I will frame. So I think it’s only going to be 8 inches by 10 inches if I mat it or 11 by 14 if I don’t. I just want to buy a standard inexpensive frame.

So what word did I get? Well actually 3 of us got this word. And the word is WONDER.

So what to do for WONDER?

My initial reaction was space and astronomy. I have several AI images I can use as inspiration.

The other concept I thought about was to wonder what’s behind something like a door.

The last concept I thought about was to wonder what a cat was looking at as it looks out of a window. Or maybe it’s wondering when you’re coming home.

Are any of these ideas any good? Do you have any suggestions? Are there any poems or songs about wonder that would be useful? My husband was absolutely no help at all.

Thanks for reading.

  2. All are good. It all depends upon what that word means to you! Does it mean questioning? or awe? or something else? Have fun. I'm sure you will do wonderfully well!

  3. Love the green gmone santa. The door idea is the most intriguing to me, feels like so many possibilites.

  4. I agree that the door idea, especially the first pic of a door, appealed to me the most. But the first image that popped into my brain when you mentioned "wonder" was of a child sitting or kneeling awestruck mouth agape in front of something - that something would be up to you.
