Finally starting to move on this quilt

I am finally starting to make the Dawn on the Charles Bridge quilt.

Here is the design I am working toward. This is the photo with an overlay of my sketch of the design.





Here is my progress so far. Some of the pieces you see are just trial pieces to see how they would look. The lantern lights were just rough cut to see how they might look on the quilt. It is hard getting an accurate photo of the quilt. Sometimes the purples look more gray than they actually are. I still have a long way to go with lots of details to be added yet.

    A good start. Photographing blues/purples with my digital cameras drives me nuts. Neither seems to be able to read them accurately.

    I like your design and I agree those colors are difficult in a photo.
