Any progress being made?

I did not realize how sparse my purple fabrics were until I started picking fabrics for my Charles Bridge quilt. And then to complicate things I have mainly red purples and I want blue purples for this quilt. My very small local quilt store did not have what I needed so I sent away to Thousand Bolts and Just One Nut. I love their fabrics and their prices. The fabrics arrived yesterday. They look pretty good. Hopefully I now have what I need. Right now they are soaking to get out the excess dyes.

Do you have holes in your fabric stash?

The pattern for the bridge

Last week I took a class on Japanese paper folding and dyeing. It was fun. Not sure how it's going to translate to fabric, but it was a nice diversion. Here are the papers I made.

Thanks for reading. Linking to Nina-Marie and Off the Wall Fridays.

  1. The pattern for the bridge looks good. I like how the focal point of the dome building is off-center. Yeah, I know that's what you're supposed to do when composing, but I often forget! The paper folding class sounds fun and I love your results. These would make great endpapers if you were into bookbinding. Could you scan any of them and turn them into repeat patterns for printing on fabric?
