Halloween top is done

The Halloween quilt top is done. This was from a kit from Needle Love. I think in terms of quilting I will just do something simple like straight lines horizontally and vertically with white or off white tread.  I really don't want to invest a lot of time into doing something complicated in terms of the quilting. I thought about spider webs, but don't know how to plan that out and I don't want to do a lot of marking. This top is pretty big at 68 inches by 68 inches so that is outside of my ability to do free motion quilting.

This quilt was supposed to be a simple diversion from working on the Charles Bridge art quilt. It turned out to be more difficult than it should have been because I washed the fabrics and they shrunk which of course it no surprise. So cutting out the character blocks became a problem since they were too small. I had to improvise those blocks by adding things to them. Oh well live and learn.

Thanks for reading.

  1. Not sure if my comment went through, so please delete is this is a dup. I think it is an adorable quilt top and cross-hatch quilting would look great.

  2. Great top! But doesn't it irritate you that fabric would shrink so much to mess up the quilt design? Was it a charm pack? Unfortunately everything I've seen says not to preshrink. Although I have with mixed results! Have fun quilting this fun quilt.
