There’s always problems to solve

I’ve tried to draw out the pattern for the 2 brownstones on the left side of the Boston quilt, but ran into some problems. The photo is so enlarged and pixelated that the details are hard to make out. Even looking at the photo on my iPad was not helping. Believe me I tried to work things out. So I decided to use the original printout of the photo that’s only 8 inches by 10.5 inches. I can see the details much more clearly. I’ve drawn over the features with pencil so I can see them. Now I have to trace the details either on tracing paper or a transparency. Then I will enlarge that sketch to the proper size. Then I should be good to go for cutting out the pieces. Seems that each building in this quilt has presented a set of challenges. This is the first time I could not make out the details. Well it’s just a new problem to solve. Hopefully this will work as I expect it to.

Have you had any interesting problems to work out? Were you successful?

  2. Good luck Chris...I guess you don't want to just make it up since they others reflect the real thing (it's always my go-to backup plan :-))

  3. In improv there are always interesting problems to solve. But the biggie is getting it all to go together when you have the layout you want.
