Halloween quilt is moving along

I have made progress on my Halloween quilt this week. Now I have to move onto the foreground with the stone wall and long line of Jack-o-lanterns. I don't have a dark piece of fabric large enough for the entire foreground so I'm going to have to use 2 fabrics. You can see those choices hanging on the bottom of the quilt with pins.  I have to work out the stone wall and iron gate much better than my sketch.  I have been looking at photos of stone walls and iron gates to get a better idea on what to do with it in my quilt. Then of course I will need to tackle how to deal with the pumpkins along the walkway.

The inspiration for this quilt came from a photo of a painting at a B and B we stayed at last fall. The photo my husband took was really terrible and taken at an angle rather than straight on. So I did not have a lot to work with!!

  3. Love it. With a daughter born on Halloween we always decorate, even though it is not really an Australian custom.
