Does it really matter?

Sometimes I’m torn between two different fabrics. One day I like the second one better than the first one. Then the next day I favor the first one. So with all that back and forth does it really matter which one I use? I’ve started to plan out the last 2 buildings on the bottom of the Boston quilt. I’m torn between 2 different fabrics for the large building on the bottom right. One is more blue purple. The other is more red purple. They are cut oversized at this point.

At this point I haven’t decided on which one to use, but I started to decide on window fabrics.

I started cutting out windows. Here they are placed on the photo of the building. This is a really detailed building. I think I need to vary the window pane fabrics a bit rather than making them all the same. That’s what I did in the row of brownstones.

  1. Not that you are asking but, I'm leaning towards the blue purple, you have already got so much red purple in there already. But if you WANT to keep it more monochromatic, the red purple is the obvious choice. Therein is your dilemma!!

  2. I'm thinking the red-purple one -- because it ties in with the buildings nearby. I'm thinking that the blue-purple one gives a greater contrast -- is a bit more "in your face". It all depends whether you're wanting the eye to focus on that...or not.
